Who is Oka Carew?
My name is Oka Carew, and my journey into insurance didn’t begin in a boardroom — it began behind a pharmacy counter.
As a pharmacist, I spent years helping people protect their health. Every day, I saw families doing everything they could to stay well. But over time, I noticed something that prescriptions couldn’t fix. Many of the same families who were careful about their physical health were quietly vulnerable financially.
On the surface, they were doing fine. Good jobs. Nice homes. Growing businesses.
But beneath it all, there was no real financial protection plan in place.
One unexpected illness. One accident. One loss of income — and everything they worked for could be at risk.
That realization changed me.
I became deeply interested in financial security — not just as numbers on paper, but as protection for real people with real dreams. What started as curiosity became purpose. I transitioned into the insurance and financial services industry because I wanted to help families protect more than just their health — I wanted to help them protect their future.
Today, I work with individuals, families, and business owners to build strategies that create both protection and growth. I specialize in using tools like life insurance, critical illness insurance, RRSPs, TFSAs, and corporate planning strategies — not just as policies, but as powerful financial vehicles for wealth building and legacy planning.
